About the board.

General discussion about Manchester Pride: the changes we would like to see (from tweaks to total change), suggestions, anything you have found or spotted, links to resources and information, the results from Freedom of Information requests and letters written. Also this is a place where we can pull across any interesting stuff that may disappear into the depths of the Facebook Group never to be seen again. Please choose a good descriptive subject heading when you create a new thread.

Do you have a question that you would like answered by Manchester Pride? If so, start a new thread here beginning with a brief summary of what you want to know. Please write a good title for your thread so people can see at a glance what it is about. Follow up posts can add more information (maybe other users know where to find it?) and hopefully eventually there will be an answer - either from another message board user or from Pride itself.

It's important that people know the history. Not just the glossy airbrushed PR version, but everything that happened. However, documentation is scarce, websites don't exist anymore and few people have kept newspapers from the time. This plays right into the hands of people who want to rewrite history to suit their current commercial purposes. Post any inside knowledge here and help create a true record of what happened over the years - warts and all - so everyone can learn from it.
