g7uk.com replies:

Jeremy I think you're giving him too much credit. Who knows if he was gay, straight or bi? It makes no difference. I'm sure there were some heterosexuals in the march.

This wasn't about trying to join in, which he would have been welcome to do. In fact some homeless people joined the march through the city centre. The man was drunk and this was about trying to take away the flag as 'a laugh'. He was showing off to his two friends.

It was bullying behaviour and because of the way Manchester city centre is at night many people have good reason to find this intimidating rather than funny. Given that the theme of the parade was 'liberation' and the rainbow flag represents 'freedom' it was ironic to have a yob try to take that symbol away.

The other point is that he went into the fenced off pay area which we're told is there to protect us all.

I dont see anything bad happening here. He wasn't aggressive. Just seemed to want to join in. As for letting him in. Did anything bad actually happen? To bar him out because he isn't gay would make people hate you. I have no problems with Gay people but you guys seem to be doing what heterosexuals did to you. Base opinions on sexuality. Now if he pulled something offensive out of his pocket i.e a knife then yes he shouldn't have been allowed in but to stop him going in because he could be heterosexual is in my eyes a bit sad really.
