More4 News asks ‘are gay hate crimes taken seriously?’

As far as Manchester is concerned, based on my personal experience over the past year or so and the sheer volume of other incidents that people are discussing, I reject the suggestion that this increase in figures is due to more people being willing to report incidents to the police.

NO2ID campaigners burnt a giant ID card in front of Manchester Town Hall at 5pm tonight, after a public meeting at the nearby Friends Meeting house.
