Last night at 7pm, naked cyclists rode around Manchester city centre. They were protesting about oil dependency and car culture and celebrating ‘the human body and the bike’.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, just as the sun was going down, several hot-air balloons took off from next to Sportscity (the 2002 Commonwealth Games stadium) and drifted across the sky towards the west of the city.

It felt so peaceful, I wanted to be up there too.
