How a fake descendent of the Russian Tsar fooled gay Manchester in 1991 (video)

An exclusive video clip that has never been published before.

It’s the evening of Monday 26th August 1991 and Manchester’s second ‘Carnival of Fun’ weekend is coming to a close. Of course, this is the forerunner of the current Manchester Pride.

In those days before the ‘no-money-left-for-charity’ scandal of 1999, the event attracted the support of some big names. Princess Diana sent a telegram wishing every success in 1991 and there was a buzz that someone important might make a surprise appearance on the final night. (more…)

LGF Annual Report and Financial Statements: year ending 31 March 2008

Here’s a PDF copy of the Lesbian and Gay Foundation’s Annual Report and Financial Statements, for the year ending 2008.

Staff wages cost £592,901 in 2008. With another £58,572 spent on National Insurance and £43,423 on pensions.

There was a cost of £61,589 to generate voluntary income of £100,736.

It’s interesting reading. Take a look…
