I sold my first photograph to a magazine in 1987. Since then I've had many thousands published and have earned part of my living that way. Prints for personal use: if you're interested in buying a print to hang on your wall at home or put in your photo album please contact me for details. Prices start at £14.50 plus postage and packing. Commercial use (businesses, publishers, broadcasters, organisations, websites): always interested to talk with you and you can expect to pay a small fee for one-use or other licence to publish. A credit is usually required. Payment is within 30 days of invoice and I only supply those who agree to these terms and stick to them. This keeps prices down for everyone. If you receive any income from your product or website (including Google Adsense), or if you employ or pay people, you can expect to pay me too. If you fit the above, then please don't ask for free photos. Sorry if that sounds harsh but already I waste too much time fielding enquiries that turn out that way. A link is not payment for the use of a photo. Nor am I seduced by the idea of seeing my work in print. That novelty wore off around 1990. Also I have strong views about the way so few photographers can now earn a viable living from their craft. I'm one of the lucky ones because I have various other skills. Educational: this is considered on a case-by-case basis. Images will only be provided free if your use is entirely non-commercial. Unfortunately I've been stung in the past when supposedly 'educational' material was then offered online on a 'pay-per-view' basis. Please check this before contacting me. A credit will be required. Charities: I have my own pet charities that I support. Others are considered on a case-by-case basis. Let me have some info about your charity. Do you ever pay for photography? Do you have employees? Also what percentage of your income reaches the cause in the end? |
