Manchester Passion – live BBC event on Friday

At 9pm on Good Friday, BBC 3 will broadcast ‘Manchester Passion’ live from the city centre. It’s a ‘contemporary retelling of the last hours of Jesus life told through the music of Manchester’.

I’m not exactly a big fan of religion (or Manchester pop bands), but you have to admire the BBC for taking a chance with something different like this

Curious building techniques

In recent years there has been a tremendous amount of building going on in Manchester. It’s all around, all the time, and as I walk into the city centre for lunch with Peter several times each week we get to see the new buildings appear step-by-step. Another ugly new car-park

I went up to Microdirect — the computer shop — with Miss Noodle and her man. Opposite, this hideous multi-storey car-park has appeared on the corner of Upper Brook Street and Hathersage Road, as part of the ongoing development of the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
