At an employment tribunal, to begin next Monday, two former employees of Manchester’s LGF will claim that they were victimised.
Manchester Pride is offering grants of up to £500 to individuals and organisations. The aim is to help ‘raise the quality and diversity of events’ that take place during Pride 2009 this summer. Last summer, Trading Standards told the organisers of Manchester Pride to cease publishing material that claimed crowd figures of 200,000 or 250,000 people at the Saturday Pride parade.
The population of Greater Manchester has been voting to decide whether a congestion charge should be introduced and the result is expected this evening. Motorists would have to pay if they crossed either of two rings around the city at certain times of the day.
